Prices for the updated SUV start from $38,000 for the base trim, $40,800 for the mid-level Allure trim, and $43,000 for the GT. As with the 3008, each trim can be upgraded with an individual pack that brings additional equipment and a change in style. The base trim includes 17-inch alloy wheels, a hands-free system, and dual-zone climate control, while the Allure Pack adds electrically folding rearview mirrors, a front parking aid, and a 180-degree rearview camera.
Chief among the changes for the Skoda Kodiaq rival is the updated front end, which brings the 5008 in line with newer Peugeot models such as the 208 and 508. As with the 3008, it includes a frameless radiator grille that extends across the front, connects to the bumper with fins, and is flanked by new fang-shaped daytime running lights.
LED headlights and taillights are now standard across the range, and the rear lights are now covered by a smoked panel that extends across the tailgate.
Inside, the Peugeot 5008 gets a new i-Cockpit interior layout, including a 10.0-inch infotainment touchscreen, physical keys for main functions, and a customizable 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster that uses "black panel" technology to provide higher readout quality than in the current car.
Wireless phone charging, Apple CarPlay, and Android Auto are fitted on all trims, and the car also gains three new USB ports.
The drive mode selector is now standard on 5008 models equipped with an automatic gearbox, allowing drivers to choose between "Normal," "Sport," and "Eco." Driver assistance - including night vision, adaptive cruise control, lane keeping assist, automatic emergency braking, and an updated traffic sign recognition function - is now also standard.
The 5008 can be ordered with two petrol and two diesel engines to choose from. The power output ranges from 128 to 178 hp. The entry-level 1.2-liter three-cylinder petrol engine and the 1.5-liter four-cylinder diesel can be ordered with a 6-speed manual or 8-speed automatic gearbox. The 1.6-liter 4-cylinder petrol and 2.0-liter diesel engines are only available with automatic transmission.
