Hybrid powertrains for the Fiesta were borrowed from the compact crossover Puma. This hybrid is offered with a 1.0-liter turbo engine, in two tuning options with 125 and 155 hp. The gasoline engine is paired with a 48-volt starter-generator, which stores energy during braking and adds thrust during acceleration.
Among other innovations is the appearance of a seven-speed "robot" with two clutches, which replaces the six-speed "automatic" on the 125-horsepower version of the Fiesta.
In addition, the upgraded Fiesta has acquired an improved multimedia system, as well as adaptive cruise control with road sign recognition and the ability to remotely start the engine.
