Citroen CEO Vincent Cobee told Autocar journalists about the company's plans for the future replacement of the C6 model. As the head stated, the new model will be a sedan, and its technical basis will be the platform used for the Peugeot 508. The design of the flagship will continue the styling of the Cxperience concept car, which the public saw in 2016. Cobee also suggested that a fully electric version could be among the available variants of the car.
Special emphasis in the new model will be placed on the chassis — the Progressive Hydraulic Cushion system, which, according to the creators' idea, will provide the effect of a "flying carpet." Comfort and smoothness of movement will be the priority in the settings. The brand's head added that the sedan's interior will be a showcase of Citroen's capabilities and, in terms of trim level, will be able to compete with business sedans from Audi and BMW.
China has been chosen as the main market for the new flagship, but the model will also be offered in other markets. The car's premiere is expected around the end of next year.
