The engine works in conjunction with an eight-speed automatic transmission and the 4Matic+ all-wheel drive system. The car's equipment includes adaptive AMG Ride Control suspension with three adjustment modes. The car accelerates to 100 km/h in 4.4 seconds. The top speed is 250 km/h.

For the GLA 45 S version, the power of the 2.0-liter engine has been increased to 421 hp and 500 N·m of torque. This modification of the crossover accelerates to 100 km/h in 4.3 seconds.

Compared to the standard GLA, the new product differs in large air intakes, massive wheel arches, a sporty exhaust system, a spoiler, 21-inch wheels, and aggressive bumpers. The interior features sport seats and a digital instrument cluster with a different design.

Earlier it became known that the new Mercedes-Benz GLA will be available with a blind spot monitoring system with a door opening warning function, which gives a signal about another object approaching from behind while parked. The list of available electronic "assistants" will include a number of semi-automatic control systems operating on the basis of a complex of cameras and sensors.

The official premiere of the car will take place in early March at the Geneva Motor Show. European sales of the new product should start this summer. Prices for the sporty crossover will be announced later.
