Kia noted that the Sorento will become the first model of the brand created on a completely new platform. The chassis was developed “to ensure the best interior spaciousness and practicality compared not only with competitors, but also with cars of a higher class.”

Kia also officially confirmed that the next Sorento will for the first time receive a modification with a hybrid powertrain, which is expected to include a 2-liter gasoline engine. In addition, the engine lineup will include a 2.5-liter naturally aspirated engine, turbo engines with a displacement of 2.0 and 2.5 liters, as well as a 2.2-liter diesel.
The public premiere of the new Kia Sorento will take place on March 3, 2020 at the Geneva Motor Show.
