According to rumors, the design of the new Qashqai will be inspired by the Nissan IMQ concept (pictured), so expect bold solutions in the style of the flashy Juke in the exterior. Insiders also promise radical changes in the interior: instead of the usual analog instruments and buttons, the crossover will get a digital panel and virtual controls.

The company plans to abandon purely gasoline versions of the Qashqai — all modifications will become either "mild" hybrids or plug-in hybrids. The e-Power system tested on the Note hatchback will also move to the crossover: the front wheels will be driven by an electric motor, and the internal combustion engine will only recharge the batteries.

If the premiere of the third-generation Qashqai takes place in September, then by the end of the year new electrified SUVs may appear at European dealers.
