Volkswagen noted that the new Caddy will be "completely different" from its predecessors. Judging by the images, the model's distinctive features will be a lower radiator grille with a honeycomb pattern and horizontal LED daytime running lights, visually combined with a decorative line.

The new Volkswagen Caddy will be built on the modular MQB platform, which provides wheelbases of different sizes. The modification lineup will include a passenger version, as well as a long-wheelbase delivery van.

According to preliminary data, the engine range of the next Volkswagen Caddy will include petrol engines with a displacement of 1.0 and 1.5 liters, producing from 90 to 150 horsepower. The diesel lineup will be represented by units developing 115 and 150 horsepower. The appearance of "mild hybrids" is not ruled out — with a starter-generator and a 48-volt on-board network.
