Compared to its predecessor, the car has grown in size. The length of the regular Tahoe reaches 5351 mm (+169 mm), while for the Suburban this figure reaches 5732 mm (+32 mm). The trunk volume has increased to 733 liters.

After the generation change, the car's appearance began to resemble the Chevrolet Silverado. The SUV received LED optics, an aggressive radiator grille, new bumpers, as well as 18- or 20-inch wheels to choose from. Inside, the car has a large multimedia system screen, and instead of the traditional gear selector, the new model has a special control panel with buttons. The driver also has access to a head-up display and many electronic assistants. Among them are adaptive cruise control, pedestrian detection system, and emergency braking function.
The SUV also got an independent rear suspension instead of a solid axle. Customers can also order the Tahoe with air suspension. The engine lineup includes a new 3.0-liter turbodiesel unit. The engine produces 281 hp and 623 Nm of torque. The same engine is installed on the Silverado pickup, which changed generations a few years ago.

The new model is also equipped with a 5.3-liter V8 gasoline engine. The unit's power is 350 horsepower. In addition, the car can be purchased with a 6.2-liter V8 gasoline engine (426 horsepower). All units work with a ten-speed automatic transmission. Drive is rear or all-wheel with a low-range gear.
