The Genesis G70 sedan will be offered with a new, more powerful four-cylinder turbocharged engine, which will be borrowed from the Hyundai Sonata N-Line. This is reported by Car and Driver.
The new powertrain is a 2.5-liter turbo engine with an output of 294 horsepower and a maximum torque of 420 Nm. It will replace the existing two-liter engine, which produces 255 hp and 352 Nm of torque. The updated sedan is expected to receive this engine in the 2020 or 2021 model year.
Along with the engine change, the model will likely also lose the six-speed manual gearbox, since the new unit is currently only paired with an eight-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission.
