Toyota engineers mounted an expedition roof rack made of super-strong steel with an area of 1.6 square meters and a height of 16.5 centimeters on the roof. If you ignore it, the external differences of the Venture Edition come down to touches: wheel rims, side mirror housings, door handles, Toyota logos, and a black spoiler. All-weather rubber mats, as well as TRD seats with power adjustment and heating, are responsible for comfort in the cabin.

Technically, the 4Runner Venture Edition repeats the off-road vehicle from ten years ago — under the hood is a 4.0-liter gasoline engine with 270 horsepower. The gearbox is non-alternative — a 5-speed automatic. The off-road arsenal consists of part-time all-wheel drive with a rigidly connected front axle and a two-speed reduction gear in the transmission. In addition, the Venture Edition is equipped with Crawl Control, which allows you to "crawl" over rough terrain at a set speed.
The electronic updates typical for the 4Runner 2020 model year are inherent to the Venture Edition: the entertainment complex with an 8-inch screen supports Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, and Amazon Alexa, and active safety systems include a lane keeping assist, collision prevention system, adaptive headlights, and cruise control.
Prices for the 4Runner Venture Edition start at $44,285. For comparison, a regular rear-wheel-drive 4Runner is priced at $36,000.
