Autocar magazine, citing an informed source, reports that the price of the new model, according to preliminary data, starts from 170,000 euros. The main sales markets for the model will be China, Russia, and North America. The car's main rivals are named as models such as the Bentley Bentayga and Rolls-Royce Cullinan. Assembly of the new model will be organized at a plant in the US state of Alabama, where the GLS, GLE, and GLE Coupe are currently produced.

The luxury SUV will be based on the new-generation GLS platform. It is expected that under the hood of the car will be a gasoline V8 engine with a displacement of 4.0 liters with twin turbocharging. It will be paired with a nine-speed automatic transmission and the 4Matic all-wheel drive system. In addition, the car will be equipped with Air Body Control air suspension, allowing for adjustable ground clearance. The possibility of a six-liter V12 in the engine lineup is also not excluded.

The car's exterior will feature traits of the Vision Mercedes-Maybach Ultimate Luxury concept car (pictured) and the Vision Mercedes-Maybach 6 show car. The Maybach can be distinguished from the standard new-generation GLS by its signature radiator grille with vertical slats, an increased number of chrome details, and exclusive alloy wheels. The interior, designed for three rows of seats, will be styled in the spirit of the Mercedes-Maybach sedan, but taking into account the features characteristic of a large crossover.
