The company has not yet disclosed details about the upcoming new product. Mercedes-Benz only confirmed that the car will be equipped with an electric powertrain.
Apparently, the public will be shown a concept from the EQ electric family. It is quite possible that it will be a prototype of the flagship EQS sedan. Serial production of such a model will start at the beginning of the next decade. Among the main rivals of this car are the Tesla Model S, as well as the upcoming Porsche Taycan, Audi E-Tron GT, and an electric version of the Jaguar XJ.
The EQS will be based on the MEA platform. According to unofficial information, the car will be driven by two electric motors installed on the front and rear axles. The total power of such an installation will exceed 400 horsepower. The range of the electric sedan will reach approximately 600 kilometers.
