Porsche has already shared a number of technical details about the upcoming new model: the most powerful version, the Taycan Turbo, developing 629 horsepower, will accelerate to 100 km/h in less than 3.5 seconds, and to 200 km/h in under 12 seconds. The car's top speed will exceed 250 km/h.
The Taycan's range on a single charge will reach 515 kilometers, provided by a battery with a capacity of 80 to 96 kilowatt-hours. Porsche has also invested in the development of an 800-volt fast charging system, which will allow adding 400 kilometers of range in just a quarter of an hour.
In 2019, three versions of the electric car will hit the market: the base rear-wheel-drive Taycan, the all-wheel-drive Taycan 4S with two motors, and the top modification Taycan Turbo. For an additional fee, buyers will be able to order a chassis with rear-wheel steering, adaptive suspension, carbon-ceramic brakes, and an active aerodynamics system. According to insider forecasts, the starting price will be around 90 thousand dollars.
