Disagreements between Lamborghini and its parent company Audi have led to the debut of the new supercar, which is to replace the Aventador, being postponed again. Initially, the premiere was planned for 2020, then moved to 2021, then to 2022, and now it's already being talked about for 2024.

According to carscoops.com, the essence of the conflict lies in financing: the Volkswagen Group is not eager to invest in refining the 6.5-liter V12 to meet increasingly stringent environmental requirements. Instead, the Germans propose replacing the naturally aspirated engine with a hybrid setup based on a 4.0-liter V8. However, Lamborghini's boss Stefano Domenicali insists on keeping the naturally aspirated V12. The Italian previously stated that compliance with regulations can be achieved through electrification, and the brand does not plan to abandon its own twelve-cylinder unit.

If the new Lamborghini is indeed delayed by five years, Sant'Agata Bolognese will likely go for a second modernization of the Aventador to extend its life cycle. For a supercar that came out in 2011, this is not the best scenario, but leaving the model range without updates while Ferrari releases new models is an unforgivable luxury.
