The exterior of the Q7 has been refreshed in the spirit of the new Audi A6 and A7. The car received a new octagonal radiator grille with six vertical slats, echoing the "grille" of the new Q8 and Q3, as well as updated bumpers with larger air intakes.
The crossover has acquired new head optics, which will now be available in three versions. In the "base" Q7, fully LED headlights are provided. One step higher is matrix optics — such headlights can turn off a segment in the light beam so as not to blind oncoming drivers. The latest laser headlights will be available as an option.
In addition, the rear of the crossover has been redesigned. The fifth door received different stampings, and the taillights changed shape and also became fully LED. Moreover, dynamic turn signals can be ordered as an option for the latter.
Inside the Q7, a new i-cocpit front panel with two large touchscreens on the center console in the style of the new A7 has appeared. The upper touchscreen is responsible for the multimedia system, and the lower one can be used to control the climate control. In addition, the Q7 now offers a digital instrument cluster, a new voice assistant, and Amazon Alexa services.
The technical content of the Q7 has also been modernized. From now on, all versions of the crossover are so-called mild hybrids. An electric motor-generator is integrated into the automatic transmission of all modifications, which is powered by an additional 48-volt on-board network. The electric motor engages during acceleration, allowing the load on the engine to be reduced, and also turns the wheels during coasting while the main engine is shut off to reduce fuel consumption.
At the same time, the line of internal combustion engines itself remained the same. The Audi Q7 is offered with two three-liter diesel "sixes" with outputs of 231 hp (version 45 TDI) and 286 hp (version 50 TDI), as well as a supercharged gasoline V6 that produces 340 horsepower (version 55 TFSI).
The updated car will go on sale before the end of summer, but the list of trim levels and prices has not yet been announced.
