As reported by British media, the new car will be sold under the name J-Pace.

This crossover will be built on the new aluminum MLA platform, which will also underpin the fifth-generation Range Rover. It is expected that this chassis will be significantly lighter than the currently used D7 and D8 platforms. The length of such an SUV will approach five meters.

At present, it is known that the Jaguar J-Pace will be equipped with a hybrid powertrain. The petrol engine will be placed on the front axle, and the electric motor on the rear. It was decided to abandon the mechanical transmission. Instead of a driveshaft, the design will use a battery pack.

Most likely, the powertrain will include a turbocharged petrol six-cylinder engine. A version with a four-cylinder engine is also expected. On electric power alone, the Jaguar J-Pace will be able to travel approximately 80 km.
