Judging by the photos, the next Golf will get new optics, a modified radiator grille and other bumpers. The model will be based on a significantly modernized modular MQB platform, thanks to which, depending on the version, the Golf will become lighter by 35–70 kg. At the same time, the trunk volume will increase to approximately 400 liters.
It is expected that the new Golf will be presented in March at the Geneva Motor Show. Serial production will begin in early summer. The total investment in the development of the eighth generation Golf will be about 1.8 billion euros, and about 3 billion euros more will be spent on preparing for serial production.
