As part of the Barrett-Jackson Auction, the first example of the revived Toyota Supra went under the hammer. The bidding ended at $2.1 million, and the entire amount was directed to charity.
The first Supra received identification number 20201 and a unique plaque. The car is painted in matte gray, complemented by red side mirror housings, and the interior is trimmed in red leather.
The new model debuted in mid-January at the Detroit auto show. Under the hood of the coupe is a three-liter turbocharged "six" from BMW, producing 340 horsepower and 500 Nm of torque. The Toyota Supra is also offered with a two-liter turbo engine producing 197 or 258 hp.
