The HD version is completely different from the younger Silverado 1500 pickup. The only similarity is the identical roof. The design of the Silverado HD resembles a truck more than a regular pickup. The new version features a massive radiator grille, an enlarged air intake, and special steps on the rear bumper for access to the cargo area.

“We wanted to visually demonstrate the power and capabilities of a cargo vehicle,” noted the pickup's lead design developer, Brian Izard.
Technical details and interior design are not yet disclosed. Presumably, the engine lineup will include a new gasoline V8 engine, as well as a 6.6-liter Duramax V8 diesel.
