The new versions received increased ground clearance, additional plastic body kit, different alloy wheels and a retuned suspension with new shock absorbers and stabilizer bars. Also, the all-road models received two additional off-road driving modes — Slippery and Trail.
The engine lineup includes a three-cylinder EcoBoost turbo engine with a displacement of one liter, available in three power levels: 85, 100 and 125 horsepower. In addition, two 1.5-liter "fours" are available, developing 150 and 185 hp. The most powerful engine has a function of deactivating one cylinder at low loads, which operates in 14 milliseconds.
Production of the Ford Focus Active has already started at the plant in the German city of Saarlouis.
