The 1.4-liter engine received a more powerful turbocharger, a new air filter, and metal intake pipes. As a result, engine power increased from 153 to 300 hp. The gearbox remained the same – a six-speed automatic.

The exterior changes are not too impressive: the bumpers are stock, but all chrome elements (grille and side window trims) have been replaced with gloss black parts. In addition, the hatchback got different decorative sill plates, a barely noticeable black trim on the tailgate spoiler, and 20-inch wheels. The suspension features shortened springs, which slightly reduced ground clearance.

Inside, the hot hatch features sports seats with high backrests and four-point Sparco seat belts. There are no other changes in the interior.

Apparently, in its current form, the Cruze SS is just a show car. Still, the possibility of a future "hot" version of the Cruze hatchback cannot be ruled out – even if with a less powerful engine.
