According to the Motor1 portal, the debut of the new model is scheduled for November, as part of the Los Angeles auto show. In the German brand's lineup, the model will be positioned between the GLA and GLC crossovers. The main rivals for this crossover are considered to be the Audi Q3 and BMW X1.
In the presented footage, the car is still hidden under camouflage film. Nevertheless, it is already obvious that its appearance will largely repeat the look of the G-Code concept shown in 2014 at the exhibition in Los Angeles. The lighting of the new model echoes the lights of the B-Class, whose premiere took place at the motor show in Paris.
Inside the crossover, according to preliminary data, a digital instrument panel and the MBUX multimedia system will appear. In addition, the car will receive a semi-autonomous control system borrowed from the flagship S-Class.
The model is based on the front-wheel-drive MFA platform, already familiar from the A-Class and GLA. The suspension will be air, with adaptive shock absorbers. Under the hood, four-cylinder petrol and diesel engines will be installed, but later an AMG modification will also appear. The power of the power units will vary from 160 to 300 horsepower. The appearance of a hybrid combining a petrol engine with an electric motor is also not excluded.
