For the basis of the concept car, Porsche engineers took the body of the production 911 Carrera 4 Cabriolet, some parts of which were made of carbon fiber. These include: fenders, hood, and engine compartment lid. The fairings with hidden roll bars, located behind the seats, are also made of carbon. Among other features of the speedster is the fuel filler neck installed in the middle of the hood, like on cars from the fifties. The roof is installed manually.

The Porsche 911 Speedster is equipped with a four-liter flat-six from the Porsche 911 GT3. The engine output is 500 horsepower. The gearbox is a six-speed manual. The prototype also received a titanium exhaust system and bucket seats with a carbon fiber frame. To reduce weight, the navigation and audio systems, as well as the climate control unit, were removed from the sports car.
