The premiere of the electric crossover is scheduled for mid-September — it will be timed to coincide with a joint world tour with the airline Lufthansa.
Judging by the video material, the new product belongs to the mid-size segment and is comparable in size to the X5 model. The car is expected to be equipped with a third-level autopilot: on certain highways, the electric car will be able to move without driver involvement, but the driver will have to keep their hands ready to take control at any moment.
The flagship modification, as expected, will receive a power plant with a total output of 800 horsepower, and the range on a single charge will be from 450 to 700 kilometers. The iNext is expected to enter mass production in 2021.
The BMW iNext will be shown on the deck of a Boeing 777F cargo aircraft of Lufthansa. The airliner will depart on September 9 from Munich to New York, after which it will head to Frankfurt with intermediate stops in San Francisco and Beijing.
