Elon Musk announced the company's plans on his Twitter page. The public debut of the new product is expected to take place within the current month.
The most powerful version of the Tesla Model 3 will be called Performance. Unlike the standard version, this electric car will receive an additional motor responsible for rotating the front wheels. The new product will also include air suspension and improved brakes.
Currently, the Model 3 lineup includes two versions, both with a single motor. The base modification accelerates to 100 km/h in 5.6 seconds, and its top speed is limited to 210 km/h. The range on a single charge reaches 354 kilometers.
The Long Range version is equipped with an electric motor producing 258 horsepower, which provides acceleration to 100 km/h in 5.1 seconds, with a top speed of 225 km/h. The battery with a capacity of 80.5 kWh allows driving up to 500 kilometers without recharging.
