The exterior of the new RAV-4 clearly echoes the design of last year's FT-AC concept car. The crossover has moved to the new TNGA-K platform and has become 10 mm shorter (4595) and 15 mm lower (1699). At the same time, the width has increased by 10 mm (1855), and the wheelbase has grown by as much as 30 mm (2690). Ground clearance, in turn, has increased to 200 mm (+13 mm).

The interior has also undergone radical changes and a completely new architecture. Among the options, an 8-inch media center display and a JBL audio system with 11 speakers have appeared.

Also, the RAV-4 can now be ordered with a two-tone body, 19-inch wheels, and the new Toyota Safety Sense 2.0 safety system package.

The engine lineup has not changed. In the US, the new RAV-4 is still available with the 2.5 engine, which is also part of the hybrid version's powertrain. In Europe, the crossover is also offered with a two-liter petrol unit and a 2.2-liter diesel. However, the model now has a new automatic transmission – with eight gears.

The new Toyota RAV-4 will not reach the European market until next year.
