There are practically no external differences between the production Insight and the concept presented this winter in Detroit. The sedan's design combines elements of the Civic and Accord models.

The interior also holds no surprises. In the top trim, the cabin offers a media center with an 8-inch screen and navigation, a 10-speaker audio system, a sunroof, and other useful options.

The hybrid powertrain of the new Insight consists of a 1.5-liter gasoline engine and an electric motor, together producing 153 hp and 267 Nm. The claimed city fuel consumption is 4.3 l/100 km. If necessary, the sedan can travel one and a half kilometers on electric power alone.

Production of the second-generation Honda Insight will be set up at the American plant in Indiana. Sales will start in the summer.
