Everyone could take part in choosing a name for the new model — all that was needed was to register on a special website. As part of the competition, over 10 thousand name options were collected, but only four made it to the final stage: Alboran, Aranda, Avila, and Tarraco.
More than 146 thousand people from 134 countries took part in the final vote. The name Tarraco won, receiving 35.52% of the votes. In second place was Avila with 28.74%, while Aranda and Alboran received 26.91% and 8.83% respectively.
Tarraco owes its name to the ancient city of Tarraco, which was located on the Mediterranean coast of the Iberian Peninsula.
