The design of the new Jetta has become noticeably more solid and stylistically closer to the appearance of the European version of the Passat sedan. The model has moved to the modular MQB platform and has grown in dimensions. The length of the sedan has increased to 4702 mm (+43), the width has grown to 1799 mm (+21), and the height is now 1459 mm (+18). The wheelbase has increased by 35 mm and has grown to 2686 mm.
In the interior, a fully digital instrument cluster, an upgraded multimedia system, ambient lighting (10 colors), and a 400-watt Beats audio system have appeared. LED optics are available already in the base configuration.
At first, the "seventh" Jetta will be equipped only with a 150-horsepower 1.4 TSI turbo engine, paired with a six-speed manual or an 8-speed automatic.
The new Jetta is still produced at the Mexican plant. The price of the sedan on the US market will start from $18,545.
