Lamborghini CEO Stefano Domenicali told British journalists that the next Huracan will be equipped with a hybrid powertrain with the ability to recharge from the electrical grid and travel exclusively on electric power.
To compensate for the weight of the hybrid components, the car's design will use lightweight battery packs developed jointly with specialists from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology.
The premiere of the new model is expected no earlier than 2022, but the Italians plan to first test advanced hybrid technologies on their Urus crossover.
