Unlike its older siblings X4 and X6, the X2's exterior is not too "coupe-like", but it is more stylish and without the controversial elongated rear. The striking design is complemented by a number of "features", such as the company emblem on the rear pillar.
The BMW X2 is 79 mm shorter (4360 mm) and 72 mm (1526 mm) lower than the X1 crossover, but the wheelbase (2670 mm) is the same for the platform-sharing models. Also, in the name of design, the trunk volume had to be slightly reduced – 470 liters versus 505.
If it is quite difficult to confuse the X2 with the X1 on the outside, the interior design of the models is practically no different.
Initially, the engine lineup of the "X-second" will have three power units. The base front-wheel-drive version X2 sDrive20i will get a two-liter turbo engine producing 192 hp and 280 Nm. The all-wheel-drive modifications xDrive20d and xDrive25d are equipped with diesels of 190 and 231 hp, respectively. At the beginning of next year, the choice of engines will increase significantly.
Sales of the BMW X2 in the domestic market will start in spring. Prices start from 39,200 euros.
