Among the external changes in the i3 design, one can note modified bumpers and fully LED optics.
The "heated" i3s modification stands out with glossy black styling of some body elements, as well as 20-inch alloy wheels and lowered suspension.
Interior changes are limited to new trim options and an optional 10-inch multimedia system with Apple CarPlay support.
The characteristics of the power unit in the standard version of the updated electric car have not changed – 170 hp and 250 Nm. The i3s variant, in turn, produces 184 hp and 270 Nm.
The BMW i3s can accelerate to 160 km/h (+10 km/h), covering the first hundred in 6.9 seconds (-0.4 seconds).
The range of the base electric car in the European NEDC cycle is about 300 km, and in the worldwide WLTP cycle – 235-255 km. The capabilities of the charged version are more modest: 280 and 235-245 km, respectively.
Both variants are available with a 38-horsepower gasoline engine-generator that can increase the range to 330 km.
The official premiere of the updated BMW i3 family will take place in September at the Frankfurt Motor Show.
