Opel has changed its mind about producing the previously announced flagship crossover based on the new generation Insignia model.
The reason for abandoning the large crossover was Opel's transition from the General Motors concern to the French PSA group. The platform on which the Insignia is built belongs to GM, so Opel no longer has the right to use it for new models.
It is possible that the German brand will use the platform of the Peugeot 5008 crossover, but at the moment the question of launching a new SUV has been postponed indefinitely.
