The crossover, named after the popular sports coupe, is expected to slot between the ASX and Outlander models. The newcomer is 4405 mm long, with a wheelbase of 2670 mm, a width of 1805 mm, and a height of 1685 mm.

As expected, the Eclipse Cross lineup includes two engines – a 1.5-liter turbocharged unit and a 2.2-liter diesel. Power figures are not yet known.

The diesel engine will be paired with a new 8-speed automatic transmission, while the gasoline engine will get a CVT. Both versions are equipped with the Super All-Wheel Control all-wheel drive system.

European sales are scheduled to start in the fall. The Japanese have not yet decided on pricing.
