The sedan presented in the fall is no longer the only body style for the new "five".
The wagon slightly surpasses its predecessor in all dimensions, which is not surprising after moving to the modular CLAR platform. The trunk volume has increased to 570 liters (+10 l), and the payload capacity is now 720-730 kg (120 kg).
The main technical difference of the 5 Series Touring from the four-door modification is the rear air suspension available in all trim levels, which constantly maintains a ground clearance of 140 mm.
The engine lineup of the wagon "five" includes four power units. Petrol versions – 530i with a two-liter engine producing 252 hp, and 540i with a 340-horsepower 3-liter engine. Diesel – 520d (190 hp, 400 Nm) and 530d (265 hp, 620 Nm).
All modifications, except the base diesel, are equipped with an 8-speed automatic transmission by default.
The official presentation of the fifth series wagon will take place in March at the Geneva Motor Show.
