In the plug-in version, the battery capacity will increase from 1.56 to 8.9 kWh, and the output of the electric motor will be increased to 45 kW. The 105-horsepower gasoline engine will remain unchanged. On pure electric power, the car will be able to travel about 40 kilometers.
Sales of the Kia Niro Plug-in hybrid are expected to start in the fall of next year.
