The new-generation Insignia hatchback received the Gran Sport prefix and indeed began to look much sportier. The model's design has clearly gained in aggression and expressiveness.

The second generation moved to the new E2XX platform, which will allow shedding up to 175 kg of excess weight. At the same time, the length of the Insignia increased by 55 mm, and the width by 7 mm. The height, on the contrary, decreased by 29 mm.

The interior of the new Insignia borrowed many elements from the Astra model. The car received an updated IntelliLink multimedia system with support for Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, as well as IntelliLux matrix LED headlights capable of shining in high beam mode for 400 meters.

In the engine lineup, a 1.5-liter turbo engine with 164 hp and 250 Nm of torque appeared. It will be paired with a new 8-speed automatic transmission. More detailed information about the powertrain lineup is not yet available.

The official presentation of the new generation Opel Insignia will take place in spring at the Geneva Motor Show.
