The new A5 Cabriolet retains the traditional soft top, which can be lowered in 18 seconds (at speeds up to 50 km/h) and raised 3 seconds faster. The second generation has grown 47 mm in length, but on average has "lost weight" by 40 kg.

The open-top A5 gets an interesting option in the form of microphones built into the seat belts, amplifying the voice of the driver and passengers when driving with the top down. Otherwise, the interior of the cabriolet has no significant differences from the coupe.

The range of engines and transmissions for the cabriolets will be unified with the "closed" versions of the A5 family. This also applies to the "hot" S5 modification, equipped with a 354-horsepower turbo engine.
