The Electric Drive versions received upgraded electric motors with 81 hp and 160 Nm of torque, but the battery capacity remained the same at 17.6 kWh. The range of the new generation of models has slightly increased – 160 km for the Smart ForTwo and 155 km for the ForTwo cabrio and the five-door ForFour.
A full charge from a household power outlet will take 6 hours, but with the installation of a special charging device, the time to replenish battery reserves can be reduced to 45 minutes.
Prices for the "electric smarts" start at 21,940 euros. The models will go on sale at the beginning of next year.
