The sixth-generation Hyundai Elantra sets completely new standards for compact sedans – from the overall concept to individual details. The car has become 20 mm longer and 25 mm wider than the previous generation. This means it was possible to increase the interior space and maintain an optimal balance between the car's dimensions, passenger comfort and trunk volume. The car's suspension has been refined to improve ride smoothness and handling.
The materials used for the body of the new Elantra meet high global quality requirements - their increased strength ensures maximum safety for the driver and passengers. Modern and innovative body development technologies have also made it possible to reduce the weight of the car and, accordingly, reduce fuel consumption. The body, consisting of 53% high-strength steels, has become more aerodynamic - the drag coefficient is 0.27, which provides not only greater fuel efficiency, but also reduced noise at speed.
The company's engineers introduced new technologies and systems into the model designed to ensure a high level of active and passive safety. The new Elantra can be equipped with seven airbags, and the standard electronic stability control (ESP) and anti-lock braking system (ABS) are supplemented by a hill-start assist control (HAC) system that prevents wheel slip when starting uphill on a slippery slope.
Hyundai strives for global leadership in efficient fuel use, and the Gamma 1.6 MPi engine is the best confirmation of this. A 1.6-liter gasoline engine with multi-point injection (MPi) and variable valve timing paired with a 6-speed manual or automatic transmission produces 128 hp at 6300 rpm and a maximum torque of 158 Nm at 4850 rpm. The 2.0-liter gasoline engine with multi-point injection (MPi) and variable geometry intake manifold is supplied only with an automatic transmission and its maximum power is 156 hp at 6200 rpm, and torque is 197 Nm at 4000 rpm.
The new Elantra, having just appeared on the world's leading markets, has already managed to gain recognition from the public and automotive experts for its design, as well as a high level of technology and safety. The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) gave the new Hyundai Elantra the highest rating.
Ukrainian buyers of the new Hyundai Elantra are offered 3 trim levels to choose from: Classic, Comfort, (including with an additional “Safety” package) and Elegance. For the top trim level, a number of options that were previously inherent only in the premium segment may be available. In particular, climate control with anti-fogging function, heated front seats and steering wheel, cruise control, rain sensor, leather interior, seat position memory and ventilation, automatic trunk opening, rear parking sensors and rear view camera, blind spot monitoring sensors in the rear view mirrors, DRL daytime running lights, LED rear lights, LED taillights and cast R17 wheels with 215/45/R17 tires.
The new Elantra is already available at all official Hyundai dealerships in Ukraine. Prices for the new model start from $19,000 USD equivalent.
