In the brand's lineup, the new model will be positioned one step above the only Skoda crossover to date – the Yeti. The car will be built on a fairly spacious platform and will be comparable in size to the BMW X4 and Mercedes-Benz GLC Coupe. The engine range will include VW petrol and diesel engines. The tentative release date for the Snowman/Polar is 2017.
The car's price is expected not to exceed $30,000. Thus, Skoda aims to be the first to occupy the niche of affordable cross-coupes.
