Recently, one of these "journalists" with heightened curiosity captured the second-generation Audi R8 Spyder. The car, as expected, is covered with special camouflage film, but nevertheless, a trained eye will see everything it needs. The new model was spotted near the legendary "Nordschleife" of the famous Nürburgring.

As seen in the photos, this car is not something new. It is the same R8 familiar to our regular readers, with a few changes. Now the car has a fabric roof instead of a hardtop. The roof folding mechanism will likely add weight to the car, but let's hope it won't significantly affect dynamic performance. For the 10-cylinder coupe, accelerating to 100 km/h took 3.5 seconds; for the convertible, this figure will likely increase, but by no more than a couple of tenths of a second. This is unlikely to hinder enjoying the car.

The new Spyders will be more expensive than their "relatives" with steel roofs.
AUDI will continue testing the new model until the Geneva Motor Show in spring next year. The car may go on sale in the second half of 2016.

It is also possible that a "lightweight" version with a less powerful engine and a lower price will appear.
