This is simply another restyled version of the good old SUV. The manufacturer also does not claim absolute novelty and focuses on a radical update of the electronic filling and modernization of engines.
Nevertheless, the new Land Cruiser is easy to distinguish from the previous one by the austere design of the front part in the form of a hexagonal chrome radiator grille. In addition to the grille, the shape of the front bumper has been completely changed, and the hood has been given relief. At the rear, new bumper, lights and the outer panel of the fifth door are noticeable. Five colors are offered for painting.
The vehicle's power units have also undergone a "rejuvenation" process. The twin-turbo diesel with a volume of 4.5 liters received new injectors and different firmware, which made it possible to increase power by 2.5% and bring it to 272 hp. The torque has not changed, it is 650 Nm. After the update, the engine meets Euro-5 standards.
The gasoline V-shaped "eight" with a volume of 4.6 liters remained the same in power. The modifications mainly made it possible to bring the engine into compliance with environmental standards, as well as reduce fuel consumption.
Both engines work in conjunction with a six-speed automatic transmission.
Nowadays, a lane departure warning system will not surprise anyone, but the new "Cruiser" has it, as well as adaptive cruise control, working with a millimeter-wave radar and a front-view camera, which allow the car to maintain a safe distance to vehicles ahead.
Thanks to the new front camera and radar, the car can recognize pedestrians. Having recognized people on the road, the electronics gives the driver a warning signal and, in the absence of a reaction, can automatically reduce the speed to a safe one.
Inside, the car received more ergonomic shapes and arrangement of controls, both for the audio system and climate control.
The Land Cruiser 200 of the 2016 model year can have a five- or seven-seat interior with fabric or leather upholstery.
