The car will hit the market this fall.
Customers will be offered the model in three body styles: sedan, coupe, and five-door hatchback. Over time, "hot" versions – Si and Type R – will appear.
The car will be based on a completely new platform, but which one exactly is still unknown. The new Civic will be equipped with a 1.5-liter VTEC Turbo gasoline engine. Its characteristics are currently kept secret. However, the company hinted that the engine will not be inferior in power to 2.0- and 2.4-liter naturally aspirated units. This means its output will exceed 200 hp. As for the transmission, the car will get a 6-speed manual or a CVT.
Among other things, the new model will be equipped with advanced active safety systems, in particular, adaptive cruise control, rearview camera, autonomous braking function, and lane keeping assist system.
