The first images of this model have been submitted to the US Patent Office, and they reveal an interesting detail: the new open-top Porsche will be four-door. This is unusual, as convertibles are traditionally made with two doors, and for good reason. A car without a rigid roof, and with four doors at that, is difficult to make sufficiently sturdy. Moreover, the question remains as to who such a car is intended for: convertibles are usually designed for those who value personal freedom and rarely think about rear-seat passengers and the convenience of their entry into the cabin.

However, it seems that Porsche engineers have managed to solve the problem of body rigidity. Moreover, by being the first in the four-door convertible segment, they may gain an advantage. As for the top, it will not be metal, as is currently customary, but fabric.
