In particular, the document provides for the return of technical inspection: for passenger cars — starting from 2019, for freight transport — from 2015, for buses — from 2017, and motorcycles will have to undergo inspection from 2022.
These points are directly related to the requirements of the European Union, since it is about bringing Ukrainian legislation in the field of road transport in line with EU standards.
Also, from 2021, it is planned to introduce mandatory licensing for companies engaged in freight transportation (with a mass of over 3.5 tons), and until 2019 — to introduce control over the work and rest regime of passenger transport drivers using tachographs.
The draft also provides for changes regarding speed limits. Thus, from 2015, trucks must be equipped with devices that prevent acceleration above 90 km/h, from 2017 — buses (limit 100 km/h) and school buses (no more than 70 km/h).
