But now, some especially talented figures have proposed changes to the logic of its calculation, which are set out in draft law No. 2399 (it is called "On expanding the range of transport tax objects").
The document proposes not to lump all types of cars together, but to divide them by the type of fuel consumed: petrol or diesel. For petrol cars, everything should remain as before, but a surprise has been prepared for diesel owners: they want to reduce the engine displacement to 2500 cc. In fact, this means that many vehicles that are far from being luxury items could fall into the "luxury" category. This means that their owners will be charged 25,000 UAH for each calendar year (up to 5 years of vehicle operation). But there is one point: a large number of vehicles that are not luxury fall into this category. This includes minibuses, delivery vans, and small trucks.
