Imagine what it's like to dial your boss's number and say, "Boss, here's the thing... Your half-a-million-dollar Ferrari seems to have caught fire." That's exactly the situation Martin found himself in when he was behind the wheel of a Ferrari 599 GTB Fiorano as the car burst into flames right at a traffic light. The fire brigade managed to get the blaze under control fairly quickly, but the car sustained serious damage.
Martin had to explain himself to Paul Giacomelli, the owner of the Romans International garage complex located in the town of Banstead, Surrey.
Paul later commented on the situation: "Martin said that at the traffic light, there was some strange noise from the car, and then smoke appeared. Insurance will likely cover the damage, but that was little consolation to him."
