The shortlist for the Autobest award includes five compact crossovers — Dacia Spring, Hyundai Bayon, Opel Mokka, Renault Arkana and Toyota Yaris Cross, as well as the Skoda Fabia hatchback.

The name of the award winner will become known after a collective test drive of the finalists, which will take place at the end of November at a test site near Vienna. 32 automotive journalists representing 32 European countries participate in the voting. The announcement of the contest results is scheduled for mid-December.

A year earlier, the Autobest jury awarded the title of "Best Buy Car in Europe" to the fourth-generation Seat Leon hatchback.
