What is the essence of the problem? Commenting on this decision, Toyota announced that it has received more than 22,000 orders (which is a lot) for the new Land Cruiser 300 and has temporarily stopped accepting new applications due to fears that it will not be able to produce such a number of cars. Naturally, amid the hype, the car may become scarce. Consequently, those who have already bought their SUVs already have an obvious advantage. It is possible that on this wave, such customers will want to "cash in" on their brand new "three hundred" and sell them for much more money than they spent on the purchase.

In other words, Toyota thus wants to avoid the most banal speculation.

But there is another reason for the ban on resale. The Land Cruiser 300 is the newest model in the manufacturer's lineup, a real exclusive that many are currently writing and talking about. In this regard, the manufacturer fears that new SUVs could end up in the hands of dubious organizations, including terrorists, and thus a threat to the image of the entire brand could arise. In this case, we are mainly talking about ISIS militants - they really like to drive Toyotas, so much so that several years ago the US authorities even brought up publicly the question of where radical Islamists get so many cars from the Japanese manufacturer.

Therefore, Toyota decided to reserve the right to conduct additional checks on customers who have ordered several Land Cruiser 300s, including from different dealers. And if the buyer still sells his car before a year has passed, then Toyota will put his name on a blacklist and will never deal with him again.

Let us remind you that the first Toyota Land Cruiser 300 have already appeared in Ukraine, although official sales of the car on our market have not yet begun.
